Smores Guinea Pig Young - Adoption, Rescue for sale in Novato, California

GP's are crepuscular...which means they are most active in the early morning, sleep during the day and then active again late afternoon/early evening. These two boys are young and if well cared for could live up to 5-7 years of age. Socializing them daily will help with boredom and keeping them used to human hands reaching in for them. Both are easy to pick-up and do nail trims on. When you first reach in, give them a few seconds to calm, then pet them a few times and then pick them up.Make sure there are two hiding boxes..once for each of them. Their cage should not be placed near heat or drafts. It must be cleaned every 2-3 days so they stay healthy and it won't get smelly. GP's enjoy chewing on wicker and wooden toys/blocks that you can get at pet stores. They also like to chew on toilet paper rolls that can also be stuffed with hay. They do not need treats or salt licks. Both boys will need time outside of their cage every day (inside your home of course). They need to stretch, but more importantly they need to get out for mental stimulation. Find a safe area in your home where they can't get caught behind something or crawl into a small space..like a long hallway or a small bathroom. Put some towels down in case they potty and it'll help with traction. They should be picked up with both hands because they have very delicate spines and bodies. If not held properly or dropped, they can easily be injured. (See Brownie's write-up for more care/feeding information.) Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 2.84 Age: 1yrs 1mths 2wks
